HB 213
AN ACT relating to sanctuary policies.
In Plain Language
This bill would ban local governments from having sanctuary policies that protect undocumented immigrants from federal immigration enforcement. It would allow people to sue local governments for damages if someone released due to a sanctuary policy later commits a violent crime. The bill also removes legal protections that normally shield local governments and police departments from lawsuits.
