HB 315

AN ACT relating to the acquisition of agricultural land.

In Plain Language

This bill prevents foreign nationals and businesses from countries on the U.S. government's restricted list from buying, leasing, or using agricultural land in Kentucky or receiving agricultural support programs. However, they can still buy agricultural land if they develop it for non-agricultural purposes within five years. The bill requires reports to Kentucky's Department of Agriculture and gives the Attorney General power to investigate violations and take back the land for the state.
