HB 504

AN ACT relating to temporary structures.

In Plain Language

This bill lets state agencies, government bodies, cities, and towns put up temporary structures without following the usual building codes. However, after six months, these structures must be inspected to make sure they're safe, and if they don't meet code requirements, they have to be fixed or taken down.

Official summary

Amend KRS 198B.050 to exempt temporary structures from building code compliance if erected by or for a state or government agency, city, or municipality; require a temporary structure be inspected and brought into compliance or removed after six months.
