SB 116
AN ACT relating to sex-based classifications.
In Plain Language
This bill defines sex-based terms in Kentucky law and says the state and local governments can't treat men and women unfairly compared to similarly situated people of the opposite sex, though they can separate the sexes for safety, privacy, or fairness reasons. It requires public schools, government agencies, and local governments that collect vital statistics to identify each person as either male or female. The bill lists examples of areas where public entities can legally distinguish between sexes.
