SB 49
AN ACT relating to battery stewardship.
In Plain Language
This bill creates a new program to manage used batteries and keep them out of regular trash and recycling bins. Battery stewardship organizations would register with the state and develop plans to collect and recover batteries, with the state maintaining a public list of where people can drop them off. Participating organizations must submit yearly reports starting in 2027 showing how many batteries they've collected and what they've done to educate the public.
