How the App Works

The CivicStorm app connects directly to our news API server to retrieve the daily political briefing digest. This connection is made anonymously. No user account is required and no login credentials are collected.

News content is sourced from publicly available news APIs and summarized using artificial intelligence. Source URLs are provided so you can read the original articles directly.

Third Party Services

CivicStorm uses the following third party services to deliver content:

• NewsAPI - Used to fetch publicly available news articles. Subject to NewsAPI's own privacy policy.
• Anthropic Claude API - Used to summarize and analyze news content. No user data is transmitted to Anthropic.

When you tap a source link in the app, you will be taken to a third party website. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those external sites.

Data Storage

CivicStorm stores only the daily news digest content on our server. No user data, device data, or personal information of any kind is stored on our servers.

Children's Privacy

CivicStorm is intended for adults interested in political news. We do not knowingly collect any information from children under the age of 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted at this URL with an updated effective date. Continued use of CivicStorm after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
